Begins Thursday, October 22. Ten seats.

A man sitting on stone steps, looking away with an expression of quiet uncertainty and wonder

Change is the oldest human experience there is. Uncertainty is what it feels like from the inside.

You can describe change in a sentence. The job ended. The industry moved. The relationship closed. The career you spend your life building no longer exists.

Uncertainty is the part you cannot put in a sentence. It is the time period where the old thing is gone, the new thing has not arrived, and you are not sure what to do or who you are without the thing that just ended.

Everyone wants to hand you a strategy for getting out of that stretch quickly. This series does something else. It takes the position that the unfinished middle is not the delay before your life resumes. It is where you actually become the next version of yourself.

Six sessions

The arc.

Six sessions, based on William Bridges' Transitions. Together we explore the process of change, and with this room as your personal board of advisors, you get to build the next version of who you are becoming in the middle of it.

A quiet, warmly lit doorway

01 / What ends

Something ended.

Transitions start with endings. Endings are rarely fully planned, and they often don't come with the closure you expected. We start with acknowledging the ending that has happened, and the closure we give ourselves as that door closes.

02 / The in between

The messy middle.

This is where the challenge lives. We explore where you are right now and why that is not failure. You discover how you specifically move through the unknown. We rumble through the identity changes that come with the new chapter.

03 / What begins

Something forms.

Beginnings do not arrive with an announcement. They show up as small invitations to try something new. We explore what these invitations looks like individually, how to step into the uncertainty of the unknown.

What ends

Oct 22

Session one

Something ended.

Naming the thing that is actually over, which is often not the thing you have been telling people.

The in between

Nov 5

Session two

Where you actually are.

The in between has a shape, and recognizing it changes how it feels. This session takes apart the assumption that being unsettled means you are failing at something.

Nov 19

Session three

How you do uncertainty.

Your own pattern under pressure. What you reach for first, what you avoid, what you need from other people and rarely ask for.

Dec 3

Session four

What you are still holding.

Most of what makes the middle hard is not the unknown ahead. It is the identity that ended along with the circumstance.

What begins

Dec 17

Session five

What is already forming.

Learning to notice the small pulls early, and hearing what other people in the room can see in you that you cannot see yourself.

Jan 7

Session six

Who you are becoming.

Each person names one thing they are moving toward, in front of people who have watched them get there.

This is the room I was looking for. So I built it.

I have attended a lot of events over my career and I kept noticing the same patterns. Professional networking is often performative. Conferences hand you information and almost no connection. Entrepreneur groups are built around making the sale rather than around the people in the room.    I have spent my career designing experiences. I create spaces where people can be the fullest, most authentic version of themselves, and where they find out that whatever they are navigating is a universal human experience.     The world is changing faster than ever before, and we need rooms where we can be honest about our personal and professional transitions. As I sit in the middle of my own, I look forward to creating the space for each of you to do the same.

What people are saying.

I look forward to this group every week. It started as a group of strangers but it's become a safe space to share life with people I trust.
GENEREUSE, DATA ENGINEER
We need to have more groups like this in Omaha. I come into the session, and it is just what I needed that week.
JEFF, ENTREPRENUER
What Sonja has created is something very special and powerful. I think everyone needs to experience it.
